Our Story
Moisson Laurentides, initially known as Moisson Basses-Laurentides, was born when a few community organizations wanted a tool that would allow them to offer food assistance to the people in need who were knocking on their doors.
Moisson Basses-Laurentides therefore obtains its corporate charter as a charitable organization on October 27, 1987.
Food recovery activities begin during the summer of 1988, hosted by La P’tite Épaule, an organization in Sainte-Thérèse.
The organization begins the construction of a brand-new building which better suits its needs. The operations’ relocation to this new 10,000-square-foot building takes place at the end of March 2000.
Our organization obtains the requested modification to its charter, namely a change of name from Moisson Basses-Laurentides to Moisson Laurentides.
Moisson Laurentides develops a relocation project whose construction will begin in the fall of 2019, thanks to the support of numerous partners including the City of Blainville, Desjardins, the Government of Quebec, Syscomax and many others. Moisson Laurentides moves to its new premises on Legault Street in Blainville in May 2020.
Together with more than a hundred accredited organizations on its territory, Moisson Laurentides helps nearly 20,000 people, more than a third of whom are children, every month.
